Paul M. Lisnek is a distinguished television host and political analyst with multiple accolades, including Emmy and Telly Awards. Since 2008, he has been the political analyst for WGN-TV, featured on its top-rated newscasts. He hosts the WGN-TV Political Report every Sunday at 9 AM, where he interviews prominent political figures from across the country.
Beyond television, Paul hosts the podcast “Paul Lisnek Behind the Curtain” on WGN Radio, exploring politics, theatre, and the arts. His award-winning specials include “Site of Remembrance” on the Holocaust Museum and “Footsteps of Lincoln.”
An accomplished author of fifteen books, Paul’s notable works include “Assume Guilt,” “Assume Treason,” a finalist for the Indie Award for Best Mystery/Fiction in 2022, and “Winning the Mind Game.” He holds a law degree and a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana, where he also taught.
The Museum of Broadcast Communication in Chicago features the Paul M. Lisnek Gallery, showcasing his extensive career in media. In recognition of his contributions to the Chicago theater community, Paul received the Luminary Award from Porchlight Music Theatre in 2023, and the Chicago City Council designated June 19th as “Paul Lisnek Day.”
