Chicago was far from the battlefields but deeply absorbed in the struggle to save the Union. Dr. Ted Karamanski shares stories and images from this turbulent era.

Issues of race, loyalty, and politics divided the city profoundly while at the same time Chicago area citizens made a major contribution to victory. Dr. Ted Karamanski, Professor Emeritus of History,
Loyola University Chicago, will tell the story through words and images from the 1860s.
