Join art historian Jeff Mishur on a bus trip to see the art exhibition "Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop" at the College of DuPage Cleve Carney Museum of Art.
En route to the museum, Jeff will discuss the origins of pop art and detail the story of Warhol from his birth into a working-class immigrant family in Pittsburgh to his untimely death at the age of 58. At the museum, see nearly 100 fine art silkscreen prints from the Bank of America private collection featuring classic pop art subjects as well as artwork from Warhol’s special projects. Enjoy a “Studio 54” immersive experience with music, video, and celebrity mannequins in full disco attire. Then, explore Warhol’s life and the story of pop art in an extensive timeline gallery and in a separate exhibition of photographs taken by Warhol.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 5 starting at 9 am exclusively at Cook Park Library.
Bus Tour sponsored by Brookdale Vernon Hills, The Picnic Basket, and Republic Bank of Chicago.
