Join Dr. John F. Lyons for a highly entertaining multimedia presentation of the 1960's pop culture revolution in Britain, how it captured the American imagination and transformed entertainment.

The 1960s saw a cultural renaissance in Britain, a vibrant, youth-driven revolution that transformed Britain into the global epicenter of popular culture. From James Bond to the Beatles, from the Avengers to the mini skirt, and from Monty Python to Andrew Lloyd Webber, British popular culture captured the American imagination and became a much-loved part of mainstream entertainment. Through the use of music, video, and many unseen photographs from the 1960s and 1970s, this highly entertaining presentation brings to life the British invasion of the American mind.

 Author Bio

Dr. John F. Lyons was born in London, England. He lives in Chicago and works as a Professor of History at Joliet Junior College, where he teaches classes in British and US history. He has appeared on podcasts and radio shows discussing popular culture and is a noted public speaker who has spoken to audiences in the US and Europe. Joy and Fear: The Beatles, Chicago and the 1960s is his latest book.
