Andrew can only find refuge in the twisted fairy tales he writes and shares only with his friend Thomas. But when Thomas's abusive parents suddenly disappear and Andrew follows Thomas into the forbidden woods, he finds that Thomas's drawings have come to life and are killing everyone close to them. Andrew fights alongside Thomas to destroy the drawings before they can kill anyone else, but as the boys become closer, Andrew starts to fear the only way to stop the drawings is to destroy their creator.
