Celebrate America 250 with a bus trip to the Art Institute, hosted by art historian Jeff Mishur. Explore exhibitions of two visionary American women: painter Mary Cassatt and photographer Lee Miller.

Art historian Jeff Mishur hosts this exploration of two special exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago. There will also be plenty of time for independent exploration of the museum’s permanent collection.

Mary Cassatt: After Impressionism

Painter Mary Cassatt was the only American to exhibit with the French Impressionists. Explore the work and life of this fearless and uncompromising artist.

Lee Miller: Fearless

Take a closer look at the work and life of this Vogue fashion model turned Surrealist artist and World War II photojournalist.

Ticket Sale Information

Tickets go on sale beginning Saturday, August 22 from 9 am-12 pm exclusively at Aspen Library in Vernon Hills and will be available until sold out.

  • Price: $49 per person
  • Includes: Museum admission, special exhibition tickets, commentary by Jeff Mishur, and luxury coach transportation. 
  • Payment: Cash or check only payable to Cook Memorial Public Library District.
  • Lunch: Bring your own or enjoy at the museum or local vicinity restaurants.
  • Non-Refundable Tickets: Must find a replacement if unable to attend.
