Enjoy the Museum of Science and Industry and its special exhibition about ancient Pompeii, featuring priceless objects, including ancient sculpture, fresco painting, armor, jewelry. TICKETS REQUIRED.
On June 16, hop aboard a motor coach and travel to the ancient city of Pompeii — at the Musuem of Science and Industry! Once a thriving Roman port city on the Bay of Naples, the devastating eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the city. This special exhibition features more than 150 objects, including fresco paintings and sculptures; bronze weapons and armor; gemstone and gold jewelry and coins; Roman glass; plaster casts of citizens experiencing the last moment of their lives; and much more. Learn how ancient Pompeiians lived, ate, worshipped, worked, cooked, and were entertained.
This tour includes the special exhibit, an immersive multimedia experience, commentary about the exhibition and ancient Pompeii from art historian and tour leader Jeff Mishur, motor coach transportation, and free time to explore other Museum of Science and Industry exhibits, including the U-505, model trains, space technology, weather, Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle, the Pioneer Zephyr, and more.
