During this prerecorded art program, I give a short presentation about Frida Kahlo's fascinating, tragic life story. Then I walk students through how to make a copy of one of the Mexican painter's famous self portraits. Students will use their own drawing supplies at home, including pencil, eraser, paper and and (optionally) colored pencils and thin black sharpie for outlining. Materials will NOT be provided.
Christine Thornton is former public school art teacher who has taught art programs at over 200 libraries throughout the Chicagoland area. Her programs offer hands-on drawing and painting instruction designed to inspire creativity and build artistic skills and confidence.
Please register and provide an email address. The YouTube link will be emailed the day of the event.
