College of Lake County sociology professors, Maria Jose Tenuto and John Tenuto, share how Star Wars films reshaped cinema expectations.
Through their study of more than 2000 newspaper articles, magazines, and interviews they conducted, the Tenutos will explore how the culture reacted to - and was influenced by - the original trilogy of films. Stories, forgotten trivia, rare photographs from fans, a discussion about collectibles and comics, and more will be shared during this look at the world’s newest mythology, painting a vivid picture of what it was like when Star Wars premiered a long time ago and why it resonates today.
